Willows Power & Recycling Centre (Norfolk)
Norfolk County Council has appointed a consortium consisting of Cory Environmental Ltd and Wheelabrator Technologies Inc., as its preferred bidder to develop an energy from waste facility to deal with the waste left after recycling.
The consortium is looking to develop a power and recycling centre, called the Willows Power & Recycling Centre, at The Willows Business Park in Saddlebow near King's Lynn. The Willows development will help to change the way waste is managed in Norfolk. It will divert over 250,000 tonnes of waste from landfill per year as well as recovering enough energy to power around 36,000 homes. Metals and ash will be recycled on site.
